What is a Challenge Group?

“Nikki, what is a Challenge Group?” I get that question A LOT!! Those of you who are not in the Beachbody world do not know what a Challenge Group means or entails or all the fun that is involved, so let me just tell you what it is!!

Basically, it’s a private, online fitness and nutrition accountability group. My groups are 4 weeks long — the first week is a prep week to get your ready for the challenge and then we have 3 weeks of daily check ins! I provide support, encouragement, recipes, meal plans…. basically, if you need it, I have got it for you!!

All you have to do is invest in yourself with a discounted package from Beachbody (which you order through me… your free coach!). I will help you pick a program and tell you what flavor Shakeology is the best (hint hint Chocolate Vegan) then I shoot you over a link and voila! You have your package on the way to your doorstep and you are officially welcomed into the challenge group.

In order to get the best results possible I do ask that you check into the group each day. Yes, I want to see your sweaty selfie and hear about how much you wanted to quit but you didn’t! I want you to share the good, the bad and the ugly. That’s why these groups are private. The friendships and relationships that come out of these groups are amazing. I see confidence grow week over week. I see results happen. All because there is support. Sometimes that is all that it takes for someone to get the results they want!

If you are interested in joining one of my upcoming groups you just have to fill out this application — it will give me an idea of your goals and how I can best help you. There is no deadline to join, I’m ready for you when you are ready to commit!! I KNOW I can get you the results you want because I have tons of testimonials!!

Do You Want Your Pre-Baby Body Back?

How often do you hear moms say they want their “pre-baby body back?” Like, every other day right? Well, not this mom. My body pre babies (not pictured) was rarely strong, was rarely healthy, was subjected to continual yo-yo diets, was deprived, was hated. I don’t ever want to go back to that body again.

My body now is strong, vibrant, has carried two beautiful babies and is HEALTHIER than it’s ever been. So, yes, I now have stretch marks on my stomach, my thighs, my breasts and hips. Yes, I have stretched out skin from my pregnancies/weight gain that I’m still trying to accept, but damn if I’m not happier with my body now than I ever was before.

I had to learn how to make this a lifestyle and not just another round of the friggin’ South Beach Diet (that was my go-to diet!). It’s hard. It’s an every day decision to keep living this lifestyle and I don’t know where I would be without the support and without the desire to help other people feel the way I do. Because it’s possible to feel better AFTER baby! I’m living proof!

8 Months Postpartum

Holy hell the past 8 months flew by. Well, 8 months on the 4th, but whatever. I haven’t updated you on my weight loss efforts in awhile so I thought now would be a good time. I fell off the wagon for a bit around March/April with travel and whatnot. But then I kicked it up a notch… or so I thought. I wasn’t seeing any results, but I felt that I was doing everything right. I was working out 5-6 times a week and eating healthy. I just chalked it up to not being able to lose weight while breastfeeding.

I took to Facebook to complain and the most wonderful woman came to my rescue. Koren from Live It Coaching. Ever since I met Koren, at an AOL reunion, she has been a shining light in my life. She started my blogging and social media careers at Pure Matters, she was my first paying cake customer and she hired my husband to work for her at Pure Matters as well. Since the doors closed at PM she has focused on her personal coaching business and is also a Health & Wellness Coach at the Wellness Connection. I was super excited for her to help me.

She had me fill out a questionairre that asked me lots and lots of questions about eating, exercising, sleeping, vices, childhood habits, etc. It was extensive, but I knew I had to be honest if I wanted to see results. Then we met to talk about my answers. It was a great meeting and Koren has a way of letting you know what changes you should be making, but not being critical or making you feel bad. My homework was to start tracking my food and exercise and we would meet again in a week.

I started tracking my food on the Lose It app and I quickly realized that, although, I eat very healthy… I eat more than I need to. 🙂 I just love me some food. At our next meeting we went over my logs and talked about things I should try to eliminate. Koren even offered to go to the grocery store with me! She goes above and beyond for her clients! Meanwhile, she has been educating me on food and exercise… and I thought I knew it all!

It’s only been a couple of weeks since I started working with her but I already feel better and have lost 2 pounds! Woo! I don’t have an up-to-date photo so here’s one from a couple weeks ago that you probably already saw. Sowwy.

Pounds down after giving birth: 27

Pounds to go to hit pre Burke weight:  8

Pounds to go to hit pre Molly weight: 15 (after the 8 above, so 23 total)
