What?! Stop growing little bugger!
Holy hell the past 8 months flew by. Well, 8 months on the 4th, but whatever. I haven’t updated you on my weight loss efforts in awhile so I thought now would be a good time. I fell off the wagon for a bit around March/April with travel and whatnot. But then I kicked it up a notch… or so I thought. I wasn’t seeing any results, but I felt that I was doing everything right. I was working out 5-6 times a week and eating healthy. I just chalked it up to not being able to lose weight while breastfeeding.
I took to Facebook to complain and the most wonderful woman came to my rescue. Koren from Live It Coaching. Ever since I met Koren, at an AOL reunion, she has been a shining light in my life. She started my blogging and social media careers at Pure Matters, she was my first paying cake customer and she hired my husband to work for her at Pure Matters as well. Since the doors closed at PM she has focused on her personal coaching business and is also a Health & Wellness Coach at the Wellness Connection. I was super excited for her to help me.
She had me fill out a questionairre that asked me lots and lots of questions about eating, exercising, sleeping, vices, childhood habits, etc. It was extensive, but I knew I had to be honest if I wanted to see results. Then we met to talk about my answers. It was a great meeting and Koren has a way of letting you know what changes you should be making, but not being critical or making you feel bad. My homework was to start tracking my food and exercise and we would meet again in a week.
I started tracking my food on the Lose It app and I quickly realized that, although, I eat very healthy… I eat more than I need to. I just love me some food. At our next meeting we went over my logs and talked about things I should try to eliminate. Koren even offered to go to the grocery store with me! She goes above and beyond for her clients! Meanwhile, she has been educating me on food and exercise… and I thought I knew it all!
It’s only been a couple of weeks since I started working with her but I already feel better and have lost 2 pounds! Woo! I don’t have an up-to-date photo so here’s one from a couple weeks ago that you probably already saw. Sowwy.
Pounds down after giving birth: 27
Pounds to go to hit pre Burke weight: 8
Pounds to go to hit pre Molly weight: 15 (after the 8 above, so 23 total)

Oh writer’s block, we meet again.
I blame my husband. He’s taken over my computer while he’s job hunting and I’m so behind on uploading photos and then that just starts a slippery slope of not blogging. Excuses excuses, right?
I hope you’re following me on Instagram because that’s the best place to find me. I’m a little obsessed. You can see my feed at the bottom right of this page.
I’m hoping to get my creative juices flowing again… I’m working on a big time sewing project that I will definitely share when I finish and ship it off to my friend (she has no idea!). It’s been taking up a lot of my spare time and I’m totally obsessed. I’m taking a break from it tonight to drink wine.
TIME FOR WINE!
I’m about to get my photog skills on at my photography class. Whoop. Better blog pictures are soon to come!
My Redskins lost and our QB totally effed his knee. I’m sad. That is all.
Here I am happy before the game.
Hello! How was everyone’s Christmas? Ours was great and Molly sure did get spoiled by Santa! I took so many pics… it’s going to take me forever to get them all online. I am still a few months behind. I sure do wish Santa could bring me some more time!
As promised, I am giveaway my last voucher for a free Smart Balance Kids milk. Molly really likes it and I feel comfortable giving it to her because has no artificial growth hormones. The Smart Balance Kids website even has some great recipes incorporating their milks! Although, I haven’t tried one of their recipes yet, I did take a few photos of Molly with her new kitchen and her attempt at putting the milk in her fridge.. it doesn’t quite fit.
Enter the giveaway below! And go like Smart Balance Kids on Facebook! Giveaway ends at midnight on 1/1/13.

Did you know that there’s no ‘S’ on the end of Saving in Daylight Saving Time?! I did not know that.
Anyway, the point of this post is the fact that I spent an hour in bed this morning with Molly watching the PBS Kids app on my iPhone so that I could keep sleeping. Mother of the Year!! 5:45am she was up and ready to go. To her defense, in her little brain it was 6:45am. I’m sure a lot of you are having this issue. DST is AWESOME when you’re kid-less… especially when you’re out boozing and you get that extra hour at the bar. But now that I have kids, it’s a strugglefest. Big time. And if you’re not a morning person, like me, it’s even harder.
I know, I know… I should be a morning person now that I have a child that gets up way earlier than I would ever imagine. But I’d be lying if I told you it wasn’t a daily struggle for me to get up before 8am. I go straight to my Keurig and caffeine it up. Even when I worked a full time job I rarely woke up before 8am. Yep! The benefits of working for an internet company…. most people don’t get into the office until 9am at the earliest.
What are you doing to help ease your child into DST? Well, if you’re just kind of winging it, like me, and it’s totally not working here’s a little advice from awesome cousin who is a pediatric nurse practitioner with a blog!
Hopefully you will find this helpful. Do you have any tips or tricks?
And sometimes, no matter what you do and how much you plan, they will fall asleep in the car!
