Sexy and I Know It??

When I was contacted by ParentsConnect notifying me that I was chosen as a “Sexy, Sassy Mama Blogger” I had to chuckle a bit. The timing was ironic. I’m not one of those that feels even the slightest bit sexy when I’m pregnant. However, it’s made me think, “Why not?” I mean, sure everything is getting bigger, but that includes my boobs!! Big boobies, yay!

So pregnant, or not, here are just a few things that help me feel sexy:

Exercise – Ugh, I know. Boring right? But seriously, there’s nothing like an awesome sweaty workout to make me feel sexy. Yesterday I did an hour on the elliptical (thank you Bravo tv!) and I totally forgot that I look like a baby Orca whale… soon to be full grown Orca. Plus, I don’t know about you, but I love wearing tight clothes that hug in all the right places. Yoga pants don’t create muffin tops!

A new outfit – Sometimes shopping sucks. Don’t even get me started on the lighting in the Nordstrom dressing rooms. Are they trying to depress me? But when you find an outfit that you love and that makes you look hot it’s like winning the lottery. Then you wear that outfit 200 times until you decide that you probably need another hot outfit. Time to shop again!

Makeup – It’s amazing what a little bronzer and mascara can do for your confidence. I, more often than not, slack on wearing makeup because I HATE taking it off. I know, how lazy is that? So I will go days without wearing any makeup — looking oh so hot. Then I’ll put on some makeup and I’m seriously the hottest woman in the world. Watch out Angelina Jolie… Brad Pitt wouldn’t turn this down.

Sex - I won’t go into detail here, but what is sexier than having some hot sex? Don’t be a prude. Go read Fifty Shades of Grey and get back to me about that tingling in your nether regions.

Booze – Unfortunately, I cannot booze while I’m pregnant, but there’s no denying that after 1-2 drinks you start feeling sexy. You let your hair down and dance a little. And of course you are the best.dancer.ever! Don’t forget to make that kissy face at the camera! The longer the night… the sexier you feel. Just don’t look in the mirror the next morning.

As I write this I’m sitting in my yoga pants with my hair tied in a ponytail… no makeup and my natural deodorant already wearing off. I scream SEXY! I look down and see my growing belly and then I look at my cleavage. I better enjoy this now! Before my boobs get all saggy and National Geographic after breastfeeding. Who knows, maybe one day I can add boob job to my list of things that make me feel sexy. ;)

What makes you feel sexy?

Healthy Dessert Options

I’m so not in the mood to blog today. I just have way too much stuff to do… still need to get Christmas shopping done, need to clean before I explode from the messiness in my condo, need to grocery shop (do you know how time consuming and hard it is to do this with a 13 month old?) need to shower and workout. I’m exhausted already. PLUS, we are out of Splenda and half and half so I’m running on no coffee. That is not good and explains the grumpiness. So SORRY for not being cheerful. I haven’t gotten my caffeine fix yet.

Today (well actually last week) I’m blogging over on Pure Matters about healthier dessert options during the holidays. There are a few tweaks you can make to your desserts to keep them yummy, but better for you. I swear they will still taste awesome!

Holiday Gift Guide

Wow, was I busy this weekend! I had a Toy Story cupcake order for Saturday and a baby shower cake for one of my very best friends on Sunday, so I was up early and up late baking, baking, baking! We also somehow squeezed in Christmas shopping/decorating. However, we’re not completely done. When we are I’ll be sure to show you pictures. We decided to get an actual tree even though we were both worried about space and Molly getting into it.  With some rearranging we made it work and so far Molly seems to be okay with leaving it alone! We’ll see if that continues once we get the ornaments on.

jhcfhdhjmdhmb <– Molly wanted to say hi!

Anyway, I have a great Holiday Gift Guide video from Gifts.com about how to make it through your holiday shopping trips without going completely insane. I thought it was fitting given the fact that Christmas is right around the corner and I’m too tired to write an actual lengthy blog post. Hey, at least I’m honest right? ;)

Sanity Savers

I had every intention of posting yesterday, but with all my family happenings (and lack of wireless internet at my grandparents) I just couldn’t even squeeze in the time. So, happy belated Thanksgiving! I am very grateful for you, my readers!!

Recently, I interviewed parenting expert, Tara Paterson. With the holidays upon us I’m sure many of you are stressed out and are having a hard time following your routines. Have no fear! She has some great tips in dealing with cooking, cleaning and everything in between!

Enjoy!

Baby Cheapskate

If you’re anything like me you love a good bargain.  Baby Cheapskate is my go-to site for all my baby/kid related goodies.  I also follow their facebook page because I always have time for facebook, but don’t necessarily always have time for Google Reader.  That way I don’t miss ANY deals!

Today they have the May Bargain Forecast!  Woo hoo!  I know I am VERY excited for upcoming yard sales, farmers markets and flea markets.  My favorite flea market is the first Saturday of every month in Arlington!  It’s in a parking garage with TONS of vendors.  Get there early!

Here is what to look out for:

Yard sales are in full swing! They’ll start winding down in May in warmer areas. You folks from cooler climes will enjoy them well into June. More about how to score big at yard sales here.

Mothers’ Day sales: Mother’s Day is early this year, so online shopping is already winding down. Still, look for coupon codes and baby/mom-themed freebies during week one, especially at retailers with quick shipping.

Father’s Day deals abound this month: look to save up to 40% on photo gifts like photo mugs beginning the day after Mother’s Day.

Memorial Day Sales! The Children’s Place, Old Navy, Kohl’s and other retailers cut prices.

Swimwear and sandal deals! Look for about 25% off on kids’ swimwear and sandals during week two. Last year saw sales at Old Navy, Crazy8 and Children’s Place. Expect up to 50% off on sandals and swimwear after Memorial Day.

Specific Sales to Look For:

  • Watch for a Stride Rite Friends and Family sale around Memorial Day .
  • We should see 30% to 50% off at Pediped.com during their Make a Wish Foundation benefit. Pediped’s been playing with the date on this one. Look for it as early as mid month or as late as mid June.
  • Gymboree usually issues a 30% off Friends and Family coupon mid-month. Look for one at sister store Crazy8.com, too.

Note: BC Predicts information is based on previous years’ sales. Stores and brands don’t always repeat their sales, but they very often do.
